Based on the trailer, most of the movie will take place with Miguel trying to escape from the Land of the Dead while also getting to know his past relatives who have been watching over him. Like many of Pixar’s movies, the attention to detail that the artists and animators have given to the Land of the Dead is impressive, and creates a stunning visual.
