Inspired by Disney’s animated feature-length classic, “Aladdin,” The Magic Carpets of Aladdin lies in the heart of Adventureland (adjacent to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and across from Jungle Cruise and Swiss Family Treehouse) and offers fun for all ages! Similar to the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride in Fantasyland and the Astro Orbiter ride in Tomorrowland, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin allows you to take a “whimsical spin” aboard a magic carpet high above the mythical city of Agrabah. Buttons within each magic carpet give you the option of controlling the vehicle’s up and down movements (and a button in back that pitches the carpet forward or backward).
Centered by a colorful and quite animated Genie lamp decorated with characters from the hit movie, each of the vehicles holds up to four passengers. During the ride, which lasts approximately two minutes, watch out for the unruly camel, which tries to spit water onto your magic carpet each time you circle around the Genie lamp! Listen to catchy music from the animated film during the ride as well.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin lies within a short stroll of several dining options, including the Sunshine Tree Terrace and El Pirata Y El Perico Restaurant. For Magic Carpets of Aladdin souvenirs, check out the nearby Agrabah Bazaar, also in Adventureland.
