Space Mountain - Tomorrowland - Disney's Magic Kingdom Park

Blast off into the darkness of outer space as you twist and turn, shooting past stars and satellites during the classic Space Mountain indoor roller coaster ride!

Space Mountain towers more than 183 feet above Tomorrowland in Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park and boasts a diameter of 300 feet and two separate tracks (although they are nearly identical). Track heights reach up to 90 feet. The roller coaster takes 3 minutes long and the six-passenger rockets reach speeds up to 28 miles an hour as they race through total darkness. Space Mountain regularly draws some of the longest lines in Disney’s Magic Kingdom but FASTPASS is available and strongly recommended for this attraction.

Astronauts Jim Irwin, Gordon Cooper and Scott Carpenter took the first ride during the grand opening of Space Mountain in January 1975. RCA was the original sponsor of the attraction, followed by Federal Express. An exhibit called “Home of Future Living” was once located toward the exit of Space Mountain, which lies at the far Eastern end of Tomorrowland. Other versions of this popular attraction can be found at Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.

Height restriction: You must be at least 44 inches tall to ride Space Mountain. Other restrictions apply; view the sign at the entrance to Space Mountain for more details.
