Tomorrowland - Disney's Magic Kingdom

One of the seven themed lands at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Tomorrowland lies in the extreme Eastern section of the theme park, Southeast of Fantasyland and just over a bridge to the right of Cinderella Castle.

Highlights of this extremely popular section of the Magic Kingdom include Astro Orbiter, an elevated version of Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasyland; Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, a popular interactive ride based on a character from Disney’s classic movie, Toy Story; Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, a fun-filled journey through technological advances during the 20 th century; Space Mountain, a thrilling roller coaster that speeds its way through total darkness; Stitch’s Great Escape, a chaotic adventure based on the Disney animated film, Lilo & Stitch, that features state-of-the-art special effects; the Indy Speedway, one of the original attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, dating from 1971; and Transit Authority, a futuristic vehicle that speeds its way through and around major attractions such as Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

Tomorrowland features a variety of diverse dining opportunities such as Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café (where you can hear live entertainment from Sonny Eclipse, an “intergalactic lounge singer), Lunching Pad and Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. For souvenirs, look no farther than Geiger’s Counter, Merchant of Venus, Mickey’s Star Traders or Ursa’s Major Minor Mart.

A number of attractions have either closed or been replaced since Tomorrowland first opened in 1971 such as If You Had Wings, Flight to the Moon, Mission to Mars, Magic Carpet ‘Round the World, American Journeys, The Timekeeper and ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter.

Note: Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Stitch’s Great Escape are all immensely popular attractions in Tomorrowland and usually draw long lines. FASTPASS is available (and strongly recommended!) for these attractions.

So, I recently discovered the goodness that is Medicated ChapStick. I realize I'm like a century behind the rest of the human race, but I've been busy with lipstick, gloss and lipliner for the past 15 years. Then I jokingly mentioned to my boyfriend that I'm "addicted" to the stuff ... ...

So, the economy's in the toilet (I know, thanks, Captain Obvious). With the holidays lingering, I'm wondering if you're making drastic changes to how you spend those precious bucks this year. The biggest thing I've noticed is how retailers have responded. I get coupons every day, either in the mail or ...

    • Mickey Mouse Revue, Disney World, 1971
One of the original attractions at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, the Mickey Mouse Revue opened in Fantasyland in 1971 and featured an audio-animatronic orchestra of popular Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, Scrooge McDuck and more!) singing such classics as "When ...
    • A new way for Central Florida to go green
I have the desire to be more "green." I've yet to put that desire into motion with practice, but I'll get there. (Hopefully you found some inspiration with Erin.) One thing I have done recently is use my bank's "green" programs, which includes ordering a "green" debit ...
