Liberty Square Riverboat - Liberty Square - Disney's Magic Kingdom
Take a leisurely cruise along the Rivers of America aboard an authentic steam-powered, three-tiered paddle wheeler that departs from a dock in the heart of Liberty Square just South of The Haunted Mansion and across from The Hall of Presidents.
The beautiful “Liberty Belle” travels for 0.5 mile around Tom Sawyer Island for a 17-minute journey (it’s the longest ride at Disney’s Magic Kingdom!) with spectacular views of The Haunted Mansion, Fort Langhorne and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad along the way, as well as teepees, a pioneer cabin and wildlife. If you’re lucky, you may even be joined by your favorite Disney characters while cruising on the Liberty Square Riverboat.
Dining opportunities near the dock include Columbia Harbour House, Liberty Tree Tavern and Liberty Square Market.
The Liberty Square Riverboat attraction opened at Disney’s Magic Kingdom on October 2, 1971 (a day after the park officially opened its doors) and the first paddle wheeler was called the “Admiral Joe Fowler.” A second boat, the “Richard F. Irvine,” replaced the original and after receiving extensive renovations in the early ‘90s was renamed the “Liberty Belle.”
Note: The Liberty Square Riverboat is wheelchair accessible.
