Country Bear Jamboree - Frontierland - Disney's Magic Kingdom Park
An “old-fashioned hoe-down,” Country Bear Jamboree was one of the attractions available for guests to experience when Disney’s Magic Kingdom first opened in October 1, 1971. An “E Ticket” attraction and still one of the most popular of Disney’s shows, Country Bear Jamboree takes place in Frontierland’s Grizzly Hall, a comfortable theater-style venue – a great way to beat the heat for awhile during the warmer summer months.
Fun for the whole family, this amazing show features the talents of the singing, audio-animatronic Country Bears, including Baby Oscar, Ernest, The Five Bear Rugs (Fred, Ted, Tennessee, Zeb and Zeke), Gomer, Henry (who serves as master of ceremonies), Liver Lips McGrowl, The Sun Bonnet Trio (Bunny, Bubbles and Beulah), Teddi Beara, Terrence, Trixie, Wendell and - last but certainly not least – the legendary Big Al, who belts out a classic rendition of “Blood on the Saddle.” Also look for a raccoon hat named Sammy to come alive and start singing in the middle of the show, as well as the “talking heads” who introduce the show – Buff, Max and Melvin!
Audience members are encouraged to clap their hands and stomp their feet during the 16-minute, family-friendly production, which features plenty of singing, music and comedy! The Country Bear Jamboree show is billed as “a bit of Americana” and some of the hilarious tunes during the Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland include “Tears Will Be the Chaser for My Wine,” “All the Guys That Turn Me On Turn Me Down,” “Mama, Don’t Whip Little Buford” and “My Woman Ain’t Pretty But She Don’t Swear,” as well as the crowd favorite, “Ballad of Davy Crockett.” This Adventureland show is so popular (Disney actually released a feature-length Country Bear Jamboree movie in 2002!) that it usually draws large lines, so plan accordingly.
The Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland features a lively “Country Bear Christmas Special” during the winter months (usually Thanksgiving through New Year’s) – the perfect way to ring in the holiday season! The Country Bear Christmas Special made its debut at Frontierland in Disney’s Magic Kingdom in 1984. In addition, when not performing at the Country Bear Jamboree, the Country Bears can usually be found wandering around Frontierland during select times of the day for photo opportunities.
Looking for a quick bite to eat after the Country Bear Jamboree show? Grizzly Hall exits to Pecos Bill Café, a casual eatery in Frontierland that serves cheeseburgers, hot dogs, wraps, salads and cold refreshments. Country Bear Jamboree souvenirs can be found at Big Al’s, which is located on the other side of Grizzly Hall in Frontierland.
Note: Neither flash photography nor videotaping is allowed during the Country Bear Jamboree show. Grizzly Hall is wheelchair accessible.
