Cinderella's Golden Carousel - Fantasyland - Disney's Magic Kingdom Park
Cinderella’s Golden Carousel serves as the centerpiece of Fantasyland and lies directly behind Cinderella Castle and between Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Mickey’s PhilharMagic. One of the original attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom when the theme park opened on October 1, 1971, the carousel was built in 1917 and originally located at the Detroit Palace Garden Park and finally at Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey.
The fully restored carousel features intricate hand-carved designs, 90 brightly decorated horses, more than 2,300 lights and hand-painted murals based on the Cinderella story. Carousel riders receive the added bonus of listening to classic Disney tunes as they spin around and around. The ride itself takes approximately 2 minutes.
