Directly behind Cinderella Castle, the centerpiece of Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, lies Fantasyland, one of the seven enchanted lands at the theme park. Popular attractions, meet and greet areas, play areas, restaurants and specialty shops can all be found here.
Highlights of Fantasyland include Ariel’s Grotto, a meet and greet area that features characters from The Little Mermaid; Cinderella’s Golden Carousel, a fully restored 1917 carousel; Dumbo the Flying Elephant, an aerial adventure that spins high over Disney’s Magic Kingdom; it’s a small world, a fascinating boat ride that magically transports you through the countries of the world through song and dance; Mad Tea Party, giant teacups that spin wildly around a colorful arena; The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, a whimsical adventure through the Hundred-Acre Wood; Mickey’s PhilharMagic, a 3-D “symfunny” of fun that features many of your favorite Disney characters; Peter Pan’s Flight, where you can soar high above London on your way to Never Land; and Snow White’s Scary Adventures, a fun-filled ride through classic scenes from Disney’s original full-length animated movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Cinderella Castle itself is the site of the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, a spectacular fireworks display that takes place on special nights at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
Dining opportunities within Fantasyland include Cinderella’s Royal Table (reservations are necessary), Enchanted Grove, Mrs. Pott’s Cupboard, Pinocchio Village Haus and Scuttle’s Landing. For Fantasyland souvenirs, check out Fantasy Faire, Pooh’s Thotful Shop, Sir Mickey’s and Tinker Bell’s Treasures.
