Swiss Family Treehouse - Adventureland - Disney's Magic Kingdom Park

The Swiss Family Treehouse, which towers high above Adventureland, was one of the original attractions enjoyed by the lucky few who were present when Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park first opened its doors on October 1, 1971. Take a leisurely, self-guided walk-through tour, which takes approximately 10 to 20 minutes, and view the fascinating 60-foot-tall treehouse abode of the legendary Robinson family (as portrayed in Disney’s 1960 live-action movie, Swiss Family Robinson, which details a family that is shipwrecked on a deserted South Seas island).

Once you reach the top of the tree, which weighs approximately 200 tons and was built out of concrete and thousands of polyethylene leaves, take a moment to enjoy the spectacular bird’s-eye view of Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park.

The Swiss Family Treehouse lies near the entrance to Adventureland, adjacent to the Jungle Cruise and across from the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Variations of the Swiss Family Treehouse attraction also can be found at Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.

Dining opportunities near the Swiss Family Treehouse include Aloha Isle, Sunshine Tree Terrace and El Pirata Y El Perico, among others. For souvenirs of your Adventureland visit, check out the Agrabah Bazaar.

Note: The Swiss Family Treehouse involves significant climbing (a total of 116 steps in all!) and is not wheelchair accessible.
