Jungle Cruise - Adventureland - Disney's Magic Kingdom

One of the original “E Ticket” attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Jungle Cruise made its debut in Adventureland on October 1, 1971, when the Magic Kingdom first opened its doors. The approximately 10-minute cruise features a hilarious narrated river tour through various jungle scenarios in three continents: the Nile in Africa, the Mekong in Asia and the Amazon in South America. Highlights include a journey through an African savannah full of audio-animatronic animals (including hippos, elephants, giraffes and zebras), underneath a waterfall and inside a dark Cambodian temple full of audio-animatronic monkeys and snakes, as well as a special appearance by the legendary "Chief Nammie” and his collection of shrunken heads! During the entire cruise, the riverboat skipper engages in lively, often ad-libbed, banter with the audience.

During your river adventure, pay special attention to the name of your riverboat, which might be Amazon Annie, Bomokandi Bertha, Congo Connie, Ganges Gertie, Irrawaddy Irma, Kwango Kate, Mongala Millie, Nile Nelly, Orinoco Ida, Rutshuru Ruby, Sankuru Sadie, Senegal Sal, Ucvali Lolly, Volta Val, Wamba Wanda or Zambesi Zelda.

One of the most popular attractions in Adventureland, Jungle Cruise, which also can be found at Disneyland (one of the original attractions that opened in 1955), Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland, has changed little over the past 35 years but it still manages to provide great fun for all ages! Disney has even announced plans for a feature-length Jungle Cruise movie based on the popular Adventureland attraction.

The Jungle Cruise lies in the heart of Adventureland, across from the Enchanted Tiki Room and Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and in between the Swiss Family Treehouse and Pirates of the Caribbean. An extremely popular FASTPASS attraction, the Jungle Cruise usually draws long lines, so plan accordingly.

Shopping opportunities near the Jungle Cruise include Bwana Bob’s and The Crow’s Nest. The Jungle Cruise is also located within a short stroll of the El Pirata & El Perico Restaurant.

Note: Translators are available for the Jungle Cruise in the following languages: French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. For more information about translator services for the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland, check with Guest Relations at the entrance to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
