The Tree of Life - Discovery Island - Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Just like Cinderella Castle at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, Spaceship Earth at Epcot and the “ Earffel Tower” at Disney's Hollywood Studios, The Tree of Life serves as the icon of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Towering above Discovery Island, the 14-story, 50-foot-wide tree was sculpted by more than a dozen skilled artisans.
Look closely at The Tree of Life and you’ll discover more than 300 intricately designed animal carvings – making it truly a memorable sight! The Tree of Life is also home to the It’s Tough to be a Bug! 3-D adventure. To reach The Tree of Life, just cross the bridge from the Oasis area near the main entrance to the theme park.
Dining opportunities near The Tree of Life include Pizzafari and Flame Tree Barbecue. A variety of specialty shops also lie near The Tree of Life such as Beastly Bazaar, Island Mercantile and Creature Comforts.
Note: The Discovery Island Trails that wind around The Tree of Life are wheelchair accessible.
