Disney's Animal Kingdom Attractions

A myriad of attractions, including animal habitats, live shows, 3-D movies and thrill rides are available for all ages at the seven areas that make up Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Oasis, Camp Minnie-Mickey, Discovery Island, Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia and DinoLand USA.

The Oasis
The Oasis is located just North of the main entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and serves as a gateway to the theme park – complete with a variety of unique animal habitats and exhibits, along with exotic plants, streams and waterfalls.

Camp Minnie-Mickey
Camp Minnie-Mickey, which is located in the extreme Southwestern section of the theme park, boasts a meet and greet area called the Camp Minnie-Mickey Greeting Trails, as well as the immensely popular Festival of the Lion King.

Discovery Island
Discovery Island serves as the centerpiece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and is home to the magnificent Tree Life, which rises 14 stories and features more than 300 animal carvings. Attractions at Discovery Island include It’s Tough to be a Bug! 3-D film, along with a series of scenic trails that wind throughout the island.

Africa
Africa, which lies just Northwest of Discovery Island, features the Kilimanjaro Safaris, an exciting expedition through the heart of Africa, as well as the Pangani Forest Exploration Trails, where you can view a variety of animal habits, including gorillas, hippos, antelopes, exotic birds, meerkats and more.

Rafiki's Planet Watch
The Wildlife Express Train takes Disney visitors on a fascinating journey to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, which includes Conservation Station, Habitat Habit! and the Affection Section petting yard. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is located in the far Northeastern section of the theme park.

Asia
Asia is home to a brand-new thrill ride called Expedition Everest, which combines roller coaster-like thrills with a theme based on the mysterious, ferocious Yeti (aka the abominable snowman). Other attractions in Asia, which is located between Rafiki’s Planet Watch and DinoLand U.S.A., include Kali River Rapids and Maharajah Jungle Trek.

DinoLand U.S.A.
Kids of all ages will enjoy DinoLand U.S.A., which is located in the Southeastern section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Attractions within DinoLand U.S.A. include The Boneyard play area, Fossil Fun Games and Cretaceous Trail, as well as thrill rides such as Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin and DINOSAUR.
