Highlights: The Historical Museum of Southern Florida enables visitors to explore 10,000 years of history and culture that highlights South Florida and the Caribbean. Conveniently located in downtown Miami at the Metro-Dade Cultural Center Plaza, the museum features a permanent gallery, a gallery with rotating exhibits and a Research Center, as well as a store that sells an extensive selection of books, gifts and educational toys relating to Florida history.
Hours: Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Third Thursdays from 10 AM to 9 PM, Sunday from noon to 5 PM (closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day)
Admission: Adults, $5; College Students (with ID) & Seniors, $4; Ages 6-12, $2; Ages 5 & under, free (Sunday is Contribution Day)
Parking: Discounted parking is available at the Cultural Center parking garage (make sure to get parking ticket validated at museum)
