About Daytona International Speedway: The world-famous Daytona International Speedway, which opened in 1959 in Daytona Beach, Florida, is a 2.5-mile superspeedway. Known as the "World Center of Racing," Daytona International Speedway is the largest sporting arena in the Southeast and boasts approximately 147,000 grandstand seats (additional spectators watch races from the infield and suites).
