14501 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Florida Experience the “Alligator Capital of the World,” a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve that provides fun for the entire family. Gatorland, which first opened its doors in 1949 and drew approximately 400,000 visitors in 2007, features fascinating displays of huge alligators and crocodiles, one-of-a-kind reptilian shows, boardwalk, nature walk, miniature water park, aviary, petting zoo, train ride, educational programs, gift shop and Lilly’s Pad – a children’s splash zone and playground. In April 2007, Gatorland opened the Gator Gully Splash Park.
Don’t miss lively shows such as the world-famous Gator Jumparoo, Up Close Animal Encounters, Jungle Crocs of the World and Gator Wrestlin’ Show. Kids will love Gatorland’s huge gator mouth entrance, which provides the perfect family photo opportunity.
Gatorland is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM. Gatorland admission for 2008 is $22.95 plus tax for adults (ages 13 and up) and $14.95 plus tax for ages 3 to 12.
NOTE: On November 6, 2006, Gatorland's main entrance and gift shop were engulfed by a massive fire and the attraction. The attraction was quickly rebuilt and celebrated its grand opening on November 24, 2006 - with all proceeds generated that day donated to the Children's Burn Foundation of Florida. Gatorland plans to add approximately 19,000 square feet of retail, meeting and office space, which is scheduled to be completed during the summer of 2008.
